Sharks Blow out Capitals

The Sharks played a great game against the Capitals. The game started out fast when at 3:24 Shelly got into a fight with Brashear. Unfortunately for Shelly Brashear won. But it really got the Sharks pumped up. The were controlling all of the play. Then at 9:13 of the first period Marleau got the Sharks on the board. That goal really got the Sharks moving because at 12:34 Clowe scored to make the score 2-0 Sharks . Then only 3 minutes and 11 seconds later Setoguchi scored to make the score 3-0 Sharks. That was about it for the first period with the Sharks taking only 5 shots and the Capitals taking 8 shots.

The Sharks looked a little less energized at the beginning of the 2nd period. It started out with Poti scoring a goal for the Capitals  to make the score 3-1 Sharks. That really woke up the Sharks who came back and Thornton scored a Power Play goal for the Sharks at 12:19. Then at 19:27 Vlasic scored a goal making the score 5-1 Sharks. That ended up the period with the Sharks taking 10 shots and the Capitals taking 8 shots.

Again in the 3rd period the Capitals scored first at 2:19 when Fleischmann scored a Power Play goal making the score 5-2. That made the Sharks motivated to score more goals. At 5:44 Clowe scored his second goal of the game to make the score 6-2 Sharks. That quieted things down until 19:07 when Mike Grier scored the final goal of the game making the score 7-2 Sharks. That ended the game with the Sharks taking 13 shots in the third and a total of 28 shots and with the Capitals taking 5 shots in the third and 21 shots total.
