Sharks dominate the Ducks

¬† cheechoocelebration.jpg The Sharks dominated the Ducks in tonight’s game. The Sharks limited the Ducks to 13 shots overall, none of which came in the 3rd period. The Sharks started the game at a fast pace. They hit hard and made great passes. They halfway in the first period Thorton ripped a hard wrist shot from the hash-marks and made the score 1-0. Then about five minutes into the second period the Ducks scored a weird goal to tie the game at 1. That was about all that happened in the first 2 periods. The 3rd period was a different story. There was a lot of action from both teams. The Ducks took 2 penalties at the same time. One for hooking and the other for cross-checking. The Sharks didn’t get a shot on net on the 5 on 3. Then the Ducks had a 3 on 2 break -away. ¬†Marleau made a smart play and checked Getslav off the puck. Then Getslav got up, chased Marleua behind the net, and knocked him over. Marleau still got the puck to Cambell’s stick. Then a couple minutes later the Ducks took a hooking penalty. Then on the next shift the Ducks took a delay-of-game penalty to give the Sharks a 5 on 3 for the second time that game. This time something came out of it. Pavelski passed the puck to Cambell, who passed it to Roenick, who burried the puck close side to give the Sharks a 2-1 lead. Nothing really happened until there was a minute and a half left in the game. Cheechoo got the puck at center and passed the puck to Thorton. Then as Cheechoo turned around Kunitz elbowed Cheechoo in the back of the head to send him on the ice. Cheechoo was alright. The Sharks were able to hang onto the lead and get the win to put them 7 points in front of the Ducks and 10 points in front of Dallas.

    Hi Kellen,

This is a great blog site. Hey, do you think the Sharks are going to make it to the number one spot? I also saw they were talking about Nabokov as maybe the best goalie in the NHL. Do you think he is?

    Thanks,
    Matthew

    Dear Matthew,
Thanks for the comments. I do think the Sharks are going to make the #1 spot. I think by far Nabokov is the best goalie in the NHL.
    Thanks,
    Kellen
