Sharks Win 5th In A Row

The Sharks showed a great performance in first period, although they didn’t score. Neither did the Hurricanes. The only penalties were a holding penalty to the Hurricanes’ Pitkanen at 18:54 and a interference penalty to Staubitz at 7:46. The Sharks had 9 shots to the Hurricanes 8.

The second period had a lot more scoring and there were some penalties too. The first goal came at 17:08 and was scored by Brandon Sutter and was assisted by Tom Kostopoulus and Chad Larose. This was followed by the first penalty, which came at 13:44 to Aaron Ward of the Hurricanes. After that all the upcoming 5 goals came from the Sharks. The first Sharks goal came from Kent Huskins at 15:55 and was assisted from Jason Demers and Ryan Clowe. Then only a minute and 22 seconds later Brad Staubitz scored a goal, which was assisted by Jody Shelly and Rookie Logan Couture. The only other goal scored in the second period was from Douglas Murray at 5:08, assisted from Joe Thornton and and Ryan Clowe. Then at 2:08 Manny Malhotra got an interference penalty. That wrapped up the second period with the Sharks taking 11 shots, 20 total and the Hurricanes taking 5 shots, 13 total.

The third period started off fast with Benn Ferriero gaining a hooking penalty a 18:44. Then the Sharks scoring the first of two goals at 15:40 coming from Marc-Edouard Vlasic, assisted by Marleau and Blake. Coming next the Hurricanes Chad Larose got a two minute high sticking penalty at 12:25, followed by another penalty to Andrew Alberts at 9:33 for slashing. The Sharks then scored on the Power Play goal from Patrick Marleau at 8:48 that was assisted from Dany Heatly and Joe Thornton. The only other action that happened was a penalty to Scott Walker at 6:54 for interference. The game ended at 5 to 1 Sharks. The Sharks took 5 shots in the third period and 25 shots total. The Hurricanes took an amazing 13 shots in the third and 26 total.

    Yay! New Post! I think it is great that the sharks have come back from a so-so start to win five games in a row. The play-offs are back in sight! Go Sharks
